Now that the U.S. is starting to reopen businesses, it’s time to safely transition back to the way things were before. Many gyms are limiting the amount of people allowed inside, wiping equipment down after each use, and some going as far as to put plastic barriers between workout machines.
This can be a bit tedious and time consuming. Another concern you might be thinking about is, is this really effective?
We’re going to tell you the three main ways you can safely open your gym.
1. Employee Safety
According to the CDC guidelines for reopening, it is encouraged to put your employees through a screening test. This entails checking their temperature for fever upon entering the gym and also looking for flu like symptoms.
The CDC also encourages all employees to wear masks and wash their hands regularly.
These guidelines are important in making sure employees are healthy and fit to work, as well as keeping everyone in the gym safe from potential infection.
2. Social Distancing
The next safe step is to make sure gym members can socially distance themselves from each other. Now you can get creative here.
Some suggestions are to label the floor with directions of where to walk or label spots to stand on to prevent overlapping. Similar to what grocery and other retail stores are doing.
Another would be to have your gym members reserve time slots before coming in to help even out potential influxes of people.
Lastly, you can limit the amount of members allowed in the building. Limiting gym members is not the most desirable so if other accommodations can be made that would be better for business.
3. Sanitizing Gym Equipment
The last, but not least, step is to sanitize, and disinfect, everything thoroughly and regularly.
Unfortunately, due to recent panic buying, hand sanitizers and disinfectant sprays are wiped off the shelves. What is the solution to this problem?
ECA-500 is an EPA and FDA approved disinfectant that is strong enough to clean hospitals, and safe for the home. ECA-500 is a chemical free, green, and highly effective solution when mixed with H2O for every situation where pathogens must be controlled quicker than traditional cleaners when disinfecting and sanitizing.
All you have to do is mix it with water and spray on door handles, weights, equipment, etc.
